평창 올림픽이 열리는 기간 동안 평창 곳곳에서 열리는 이번 전시는 ‘평화를 의미하는 평(平)과 창을 뜻하는 창(窓)’의 조합으로, ‘평창이 올림픽을 기점으로 소통과 화합을 통한 새로운 비전을 제시하는 창의 역할을 기대한다’는 의미를 지닌다. 평창과 평창 군민이 주체, 주제, 소재로 참여, 군민들과 예술가들이 함께 모여 시작한 것이 특징인 이번 프로젝트는 올림픽이라는 거대한 행사 뒤에 가려지기 쉬운 평창 군민들의 삶에 중점을 두었다. 특히, 인터랙티브 미디어를 중심으로 관람자들의 참여도를 높이도록 기획되었다.

This exhibition was held throughout PyeongChang city during the PyeongChang Olympics. The title, 平窓 is a combination of Pyeong(平), meaning peace, and Chang (窓), meaning window; thus this exhibition anticipated the role of Pyeongchang as the window proposing the new vision through communication and harmony. The project is characterized by the participation of PyeongChang citizens and artists; Pyeongchang and their citizens are the subject matter of this whole exhibition. This project was focused on the life of PyeongChang residents which is likely to be overshadowed by the biggest sporting event, the Olympics. In particular, it was designed to increase public participation through the interactive media.
